Alrighty, we are about to finish off Siljander's A Deadly Misunderstanding, which brings us to a transition of sorts. Last week, Sarah G-ski offered the excellent idea of mixing things up and using a podcast medium to guide our discussion for a few weeks while we sort out our next collective book. Based on the positive response from everybody, we're going to go ahead with that approach.
The podcast that's been selected is Rob Bell's four-part teaching series titled "Jesus is Difficult," which he delivered to Mars Hill a few years ago.
In the meantime, based on last week's discussion I have placed a poll here on the blog in the upper right-hand corner. Please cast your vote for one of the following books:

Deep Church
Hey all... hope you're all having fun in the cool pines this weekend. We're getting our feet back under us and, not surprisingly, Char and I are recovering from stress-induced colds.
We've really missed you guys and look forward to reconnecting soon!
BTW.. I just finished a book called "So you don't want to go to Church anymore" by Wayne Jacobsen and Dave Coleman. Short read, finished it on the plane to MI, but I think you all would dig it.
Oh man... The last two times I've had an open Sunday the meeting is cancelled. I've always wanted read something by Richard Rohr. Along the lines of what Christian mentioned is a book called "Bo's Cafe". Very similar to "So you don't want to go to Church anymore". Actuially Wayne Jacobson's company Windblow Media published it. Anyway, hope to catch up with everyone soon.
Matt, hope you can make it some time soon. We've missed you.
Christian, hope you guys get some time to destress and get well.
I've read "So you don't want to go to Church anymore". I really liked it too.
I'm having a hard time making a choice. I have been skimming Deep Church and what I've read so far is very similar to discussions we've had regarding the traditional evagelical church vs emerging/emergent thought...and exploring a third way aka "Deep Church"...between the two ideologies. Just not sold on Richard Rohrs Naked Now either...
Both books look like great reads... couldn't decide so I voted for both!
