Escape the Oven EmDes Retreat

I think we've decided on the weekend of August 7-8 (Friday and Saturday night) for our retreatish getaway celebrating the end of summer. I have two families committed and would like to get at least a couple more before I reserve the house. Please let me know asap as it looks like the house we would like to rent goes pretty quickly.

Schroeders are out June 1-4 and July 9-18. School will start about the 7th of August...(I think) based on last year's calendar.

This is how the G-skis feel about camping:

How about like a staycation idea - we rent cabanas at a hotel poolside here in town or something, so people with limited budgets/small children/whatever can decide whether they want to make it a day trip or an overnighter? Hotel rates are cheap in Phoenix between summer and *cough* boycotts *cough*

We are out of town July 17-25ish. Other than that, there isn't anything else on the calendar.

I like the staycation idea or someplace cooler but not too far (does that exist?)

My summer travel schedule is open - I do not like to travel with tourists. They annoy me! An EmDes retreat however sounds wonderful. Staying local works for me, as does a few cabins in the Prescott or Flagstaff area. Remaining local would help the economy.

Yeah Stacey!!
I can go that weekend - the second weekend of unemployment!! I can be gone for a weekend - including the Sunday. I will be able to sleep in on a Sunday soon! Oh, I could get spoiled!

Count me in on this trip!!

I am there!

And thanks Stacey for organizing this!
